Official Synopsis: "Harper Price, peerless Southern belle, was born ready for a Homecoming tiara. But after a strange run-in at the dance, Harper's destiny takes a turn for the seriously weird. She's imbued with the powers of a Paladin, a guardian with agility, super strength, and lethal fighting instincts.
Just when life can't get anymore dangerously crazy, Harper finds out who shes charged to protect: David Stark, school reporter, subject of a mysterious prophecy and possibly Harper's least favorite person. Things get awkward when Harper starts falling for him-and discovers that David's own fate could very well be to destroy earth."

My Review: I loved this book so, so, so much! Harper the main character is the exact stereotype of a "Sweet southern belle who is captain of almost every club including the cheer team, and is perfect at everything she does."(is that even a stereotype?!? LOL)

Well anyways, we start off the book at her Homecoming and, Oh , My, Gosh, she forgot her lip gloss! Harper feels like its the end of the world. When she goes to the restroom to put on her best friend Bee's lip gloss something weird happens; she finds the janitor from her school bleeding to death on the floor. When she goes over to help he breathes an icy breath into her; but what Harper doesn't know is that she has just become a Paladin (a guardian of the oracle who has kick butt powers!). After an eventful chain of events, Harper doesn't know what to do so she freaks out. Her arch nemesis David Stark finds her and tries to help, but the next day he writes awful rumors about her in the school newspaper. The only thing that could make her situation any worse happens. Harper finds out the person she's supposed to protect is David...

In this book both Harper and David have to make very big sacrifices including friendships, relationships, and themselves to keep their secrete. The character development in this book is great. And the main character has a sense of humor that was very relatable! I liked how it wasn't set in a futuristic world, it made me feel like these events could actually happen. I recommend this book to anyone who likes an awesome action packed book!

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars!
