Author: Carey Corp & Lorie Langdon

Published By: Blink

Released: August 20th, 2013

Official Synopsis: "Veronica doesn't think she's going crazy. But why Can't anyone else see the mysterious blonde boy who keeps popping up wherever she goes.
When her best friend Mackenna, invites her to spend the summer in Scotland, veronica jumps at the opportunity to leave he complicated life behind for a few months. But the Scottish country-side holds other plans. Not only has the imaginary kilted boy followed her to Alloway, she and Mackenna discover a strange set of rings and a very unnerving letter from Mackenna's Great aunt- and when the girls test the instructions aunt Gracie left behind, they find themselves transported to a land that defies explanation.
Doon seem's to be a real life fairy tale, complete with one prince who has eyes for Mackenna and another who looks suspiciously like the boy from veronica's daydreams. But Doon has a dark underbelly as well. The two girls could have everything they've longed for... or they could end up breaking an enchantment and find themselves trapped in a world that has become a nightmare.

My Review: Veronica's homelife isn't the best; when her world feels like it is falling apart her best friend Mackenna invites her to spend the summer at her late aunt's cottage in Scotland with her. She accepts the invitation. Right before she got the invite Veronica started seeing this beautiful boy in a kilt, she thought it was her imagination. But even in Alloway, Scotland he was there. Once Veronica discovers all of Mackenna's aunt's journals about this magical place called Doon, she cant stop trying to find it. When they cross the Bridge O' Doon they are transported to this magical land.(Obviously called Doon, lol) there are two princes in Doon one has feelings for Mackenna and the other is the one from Veronica's daydreams! But there's an evil in the land and Veronica and Mackenna are the prime suspects. They go on an action packed adventure trying to gain the peoples trust while also saving Doon from whatever has possessed the kingdom.

The character development in this book was great. The characters personalities changed as the story developed. I was a bit nervous about the romance because the story takes place over 2 weeks; but surprisingly it didn't feel rushed or forced. I really loved that this book did a good job balancing the adventure and romance! The characters had a lot of great qualities and a lot of weak qualities. The world is described perfectly; I felt like I was watching a movie in my head. The authors did a great job writing the duel perspectives. I always knew who was speaking. The humor in this book is hilarious and kept me turning the page! The next book is Destined for Doon. I recommend this book to everyone!

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars!
