Spirit Bound By: Richelle Mead

Author: Richelle Mead

Published By: Penguin

Released: May 18th, 2010

Official Synopsis: "After a long and heartbreaking journey to Siberia, Dimitri's birthplace, Rose Hathaway has finally returned to St. Vladimir's-and to her best friend, Lissa Dragomir. It's graduation, and the girls can't wait for their real lives outside the Academy's cold iron gates to finally begin. But even with the intrigue and excitement of court life looming, Rose's heart still aches for Dimitri. He's out there, somewhere.

She failed to kill him when she had the chance, and now her worst fears are about to come true. Dimitri has tasted her blood, and she knows in her heart that he is hunting her. And if Rose won't join him, he won't rest until he has silenced her... forever."

My Review:
Rose has returned to the Academy to finally graduate and try to rebuild her old relationships. Unfortunately Rose failed to kill Dimitri when she had the chance. On top of that he's sending Rose these creepy "I'm going to kill you, even though I love you" letters...

In this book Victor and his brother make a lot of appearances. Victor's brother is the only person who has allegedly brought a Strigoi back from the dead. And Rose will stop at nothing to find a way to bring Dimitri back to his old self.

So many things happened in this book. Rose and Adrian are a couple and Lissa and Christian are still having their problems. Most of the setting is at court because now that all the Dhampir's have graduated they need to be assigned royal Moroi.

Towards the end of the book a HUGE plot twist happened!!! Because of this plot twist Abe comes back into the picture, which I am really excited about because I think he's pretty awesome!

There was a few parts in the book which I felt dragged on a bit, but I can over look that. The love triangle between Rose, Adrian, and Dimitri is written well. I really enjoyed when Adrian and Rose were together because he's so understanding. The character development wasn't great but it was enough. The court system was described wonderfully, I now understand how the Moroi society runs. Overall this is a great installment in the Vampire Academy series and can't wait to read the last book!

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars!

Blood Promise By: Richelle Mead

Author: Richelle Mead

Published By: Penguin

Released: August 25th, 2009

Blood PromiseOfficial Synopsis: "Guardian Rose Hathaway's life will never be the same. The recent attack on St. Vladimir's Academy devastated the entire Moroi world. Many are dead. And for the few victims carried off by Strigoi, their fates are even worse.

But only one victim matters... Dimitri Belikov. Rose must not chose one of two very different paths: honoring her life's vow to protect Lissa-her best friend and last surviving Dragomir princess-or dropping out of the Academy to strike out on her own and hunt down the man she loves. She'll have to go to the ends of the earth to hunt down Dimitri and keep the promise he begged her to make. But the question is, when the time comes, will he want to be saved?

My Review:

Rose has decided that shes going to find Dimitri and kill him. When her 18th birthday comes around she drops out of school because no one can stop her. But there's one problem... Where does she go?

She decides shes going to Siberia because that's where his family is. Before she gets to Siberia Rose meets a girl named Sydney. Sydney's works with Dhampir's, and her boss makes her take Rose to Siberia. When Rose get's there she meets a mysterious character named Abe who seems to be following her around. When she finally finds Dimirti she forgot his first lesson: never hesitate. He takes her away and this really weird relationship forms between them... He want's to "awaken" her but will not force her...

In half the book Rose is "high" on the endorphins from Dimitri's bites, and it really seemed like she might become Strigoi... But I guess you will have to read the book to find out!

During this whole book there was a side story going on with Lissa. A new girl has showed up and is trying to take Rose's place.... She tries to get Adrian to like her, become friends with Christian, and try to be Lissa's best friend. On top of all that she's an awful influence on Lissa, especially with her being a spirit user. What they don't know is this girl has a ulterior motive... And it might come at the cost of Lissa's life....

The character development wasn't as strong as the other books; but it made sense because, well, the endorphins made it a bit hard to even think... During this whole book I had super conflicted feelings. I kind of wanted her to be with Dimitri, but I also didn't...(That made no sense whats-o-ever, lol) I really liked it when Rose found the courage to stick up to the Strigoi even when she was in a haze. It proved that no matter how out of it she is Rose is always the strong Dhampir guardian we know! Overall a lot happened in this book at it was written very well! I recommend this series to everyone!

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars!

Shadow Kiss By: Richelle Mead

Author: Richelle Mead

Published By: Penguin

Released: November 13th, 2008

Shadow KissOfficial Synopsis: "Rose knows it is forbidden to love another guardian. Her best friend Lissa-the last Dragomir princess-must always come first. Unfortunately, when it comes to gorgeous Dimitri Belikov, some rules are meant to be broken...

Then a strange darkness begins to grow in Rose's mind, and ghostly shadows warn of a terrible evil drawing nearer to the Academy's iron gates. The immortal undead are closing in, and they want vengeance for the lives Rose has stolen. In a heart-stopping battle to rival her worst nightmares, Rose will have to choose between life, love, and the two people who matter most... but will her choice mean that only one can survive?"

My Review:

This is probably my favorite book that I've read in this series! each book keeps getting better and better!

Rose is still trying to cope with the death of her friend Mason. She keeps going into this extremely unhealthy place and it seems as if she's going crazy...

Lissa and Adrian are learning more about spirit every day, and are spending a lot of time together. Christian starts to get jealous of how much time they are spending together even though Lissa keeps reassuring him that there is nothing going on between the two of them.  Rose and Dimitri's relationship keeps progressing towards the end of the book. But Adrian keeps trying to impress Rose. It's actually super sweet! Unfortunately the spirits Rose is seeing becomes to much to handle, luckily she has Dimitri to fall back upon.

Major battles happen between the Strigoi and Dhampir's during the whole book; and Moroi are willing to help. In this book you get to see the idea of Moroi starting to fight alongside Dhampirs, and they're making very good progress. Towards the end of the book Rose and Dimitri go off into battle to save a good friend (but I can't tell you who, because spoilers, lol) On a more serious note, the unbelievable happens. The one person she loves most is in a deadly situation.... Rose has to make a very hard decision... Does she save her best friend, or the love of her life?

This was a great book! The character development was written sooooooo well (you know it's great when I use 7 o's, lol) The relationship between Rose and Dimitri is so sweet and the ending broke my heart... When reading this book you can definitely tell there is a bit of resentment coming from Rose towards Lissa. She was realizing that because she had to protect Lissa she would almost never see Dimitri. Rose wants to live her own life. I really liked this aspect of the book because I honestly think I would feel the exact same way. The whole book was action packed with Strigoi battles, which I think is pretty awesome! I definitely recommend this book to everyone!

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars!

Frostbite By: Richelle Mead

Author: Richelle Mead

Published By: Penguin

Release Date: April 10th, 2008
Frostbite
Official Synopsis: "Rose has serious guy trouble. Her gorgeous tutor, Dimitri, has his eye on someone else, her friend mason has a huge crush on her, and she keep's getting stuck in her best friend Lissa's head while she's making out with her boyfriend, Christian.

Then a nearby Strigoi attack puts St. Vladimir's on high alert, and the Academy whisks its students away on a mandatory holiday ski trip. But the glittering landscape and posh Idaho resort only provide the illusion of safety. When three students run away to strike back against the deadly Strigoi, Rose must join forces with Christian to rescue them. Only this time, Rose-and her heart-are in more danger than she could ever imagined..."

My Review:
In this book some major things happen that effect the whole series! This book is  just so amazing!

In the beginning of the book Lissa is worried that her pills she's taking to stop her magic aren't working that good. And she doesn't know how she feels about it... on one hand she doesn't want to go crazy, and on the other she wants to help people so much... She can almost feel the magic and doesn't know what to do, so she turns to Rose. This might seem like a good thing but Rose is a bit dismissive about the situation.

Rose is almost caught up in her studies. As a test, she has to go to a home of a famous guardian. Rose and Dimitri have to drive to the remote home.... and it's a little awkward because of the lust charm Victor had placed on them in the first book...  When they get there something doesn't seem right, and it isn't... what she discovers changes her forever... Even though Dimitri is trying to help, it doesn't

Because of the discovery the school goes into a panic, so they decide to bring the kids on a trip, for the holiday season. Rose is trying to balance her feeling for Dimitri but recently he's been treating her like a child, and seems to have feelings for someone different... So Rose finds love somewhere else, Mason... Mason has always had a crush on her, and she's taking advantage of it without even realizing it...

A mysterious character shows up named Adrian, and he seems to have taken interest in Rose... And on top of that he's royal and will stop at nothing to impress her. But when people see them talking they start warning her to stay away from him... And Dimitri has suddenly become very protective of her...

Rose shares some information with Mason that sends him on a dangerous "adventure" with some friends. Rose and Christian set out to save them... What happens to Rose and her friends (especially Rose), changes them forever....

This book was one of my favorites because so much happens! Adrian is introduced, and I can tell you that you will be reading much more of him. And honestly, I think he's great. The way Dimirti becomes protective of Rose was really sweet. Rose goes through MASSIVE character development in this book! She grows us so much... But the event that happened later in the book really changed her... And not in a good way... Every single one of the events that happen plays a super big role in the other books! I don't know about ya'll but I love it when past events are brought up in the other books. (IDK why, lol.) overall this book was amazing and I recommend it to everyone!

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars!
